Brian Crecente of Kotaku considers UniWar the first of his “Sixteen Games That Make iPhone Gaming Worthwhile!” Kotaku is my go-to source for all video game news. So it’s an honor to have a Javaground game plugged like this!
My allergy blood test results are in. I passed! Really though, it turns out I have a variety of interesting respiratory allergies. The first is house dust mites, both Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus and Dermatophagoides farinae. Cockroach is another one, which I learned is actually the most common human allergy. I’m also allergic to oak, Bermuda grass, and rough pigweed. My reaction to each of these allergens is considered “Low Level.” A test result of less than 0.35 is classified as “Undetectable,” and my results on each of these allergens is around 0.40.
My true kryptonite, however, seems to be Alternaria alternata, which is a fungus. My test result for that allergen is 3.59, “High Level.” No more mushrooms for me! (Yes, I know, bad joke.) Now comes the exciting process of trying to learn how to minimize my exposure to microscopic organisms and particles.
Hello Pennsylvanians! Amanda and I finally have our Christmas flights booked! We will be arriving at PIT on Christmas Day at 4pm, and enjoying freezing temperatures and warm fires until we fly out on January 3rd at 7 in the morning. Zack’s coming to visit us in early December, so we’ll be delivery him safely back to his family when we arrive on Christmas Day. See you all then!
Another pleasantly-surprised reviewer has some kind words to say about our mobile game Zombieland. This time it’s Levi, the one and only mobile game reviewer at IGN.com, a prominent video game website. Two of my favorite quotes from his review: “iZombieland is better than it has any right to be,” and “Dual chainsaws FTW.”
Teddie mooed last night.
Apparently this has happened a few times before, but this is the first time I actually remember hearing it. Amanda remembers it at least once before.
We stayed up late last night, so we were sleeping in. At around 6:30 in the morning, we heard this very clear and strong MMMOOOOOOOO. It definitely started with a “mmm” sound, and ended with “oooooooooooo.” It woke us both up immediately. Amanda turned to me and said, “Now do you believe me? Are you going to remember it this time?” We’re not positive that it’s Teddie, but what else in our bedroom would make such a loud noise?
Crazy, strange, disconcerting. And also entertaining. But we hope it doesn’t continue; a dog that moos in the early hours of the morning could definitely get irritating after a while.
Zombieland is a horror/comedy zombie movie now showing in theatres. It’s also a side scrolling gore-fest mobile game that I developed! It has recently been released on all major carriers, including iPhone.
Now bear in mind that if you’re going to check out the game on iTunes, it’s listed as iZombieland there. The original Zombieland application is a simple free app developed strictly for marketing purposes, and unfortunately has not received very favorable reviews. So don’t get it confused with our zombie-slaughtering action game!
All the screenshots here are from the iPhone version of the game, which has the highest blood-to-zombie ratio. Hooray for headshots!
Did I miss something? When did the real world start having jet packs?
